Relay is an switch that operates electrically. Being called a switch because the relay has two states ON and OFF. The relay in ON or OFF state depends on whether the current flows through the relay or not.

Operating principles of the Relay

When there is current flowing through the relay, this current will flow through the inner coil and create a suction magnetic field. This suction field acts on an internal lever that closes or opens the electrical contacts and thus changes the state of the relay. The number of electrical contacts changed may be 1 or more, depending on the design.

Relays with 2  circuits operate independently. One circuit is to control the coil of the relay: Whether or not the current runs through the coil, or means that the relay is in ON or OFF state. The other controls the current we need to control passes the relay or not based on the status of ON or OFF of the relay.

There are lots of IDEC relay series such as:

RJ series (Slim Power Relays)
RU series (Universal Relays)
RY series (Miniature Relays, 4 poles, economic)
RM series (Miniature Relays, 2 poles, economic)
RR series (Heavy-duty power relays, Pin-type terminal)
RH series (Heavy-duty power relays, Blade-type terminal)
RJ series, RU series, RY series are the most common.
