Common types of inverters

In this article, we will learn about the most popular inverters currently available

AC inverters

Biến tần AC

Alternating current inverter (AC) is the most widely used inverter. They are designed to control all kinds of machines and vehicles operating by alternating current.

DC Inverters

Biến tần DC

Direct current inverter (DC) controls the branching of the DC motor. This design of DC motor divides the electric induction part and branch circuit. DC inverter can change the input voltage. The inverter can change the input voltage (VVI) which is the simplest type of inverter. With this type, the output switches create a new sine wave for the voltage of the electric motor by entering a series of square waves at different voltages. These types of inverters often work with the help of a large capacitor.

Current source inverter

Biến tần nguồn điện đầu vào

The current source inverter (CSI) is very similar to VVI inverter. The difference between these two types is that the driver input power inverter drives a square wave current into a line that is opposite to the voltage. The current source inverter needs a large inverter to keep the current constant.

Pulse width modulation inverter

Biến tần điều chỉnh độ rộng xung

Pulse width modulation inverter (PWM) is the most complex type of inverter. However, it allows electric motors to operate more efficiently. PWM does this through the use of transistors. Transistors convert DC current at different frequencies. Therefore they provide a series of voltage pulses for electric motors. Each pulse is divided into sections in response to the electric motor’s resistance and produces an appropriate current in the electric motor.

Vector inverter with pulse width modulation

The Vector inverter with pulse width modulation is a new type of inverter. They use a type of control system that often incorporates DC motors. The inverter has a microprocessor. They are connected to the electric motor through a closed control loop. This allows the processor to more tightly control the operation of the electric motor.
